Our story
Our vision is to enhance beautiful spaces with unique and special pieces. Explore our collection as you stroll through our two acre garden showroom. Each piece has an individual style or character, and so a different influence on the space it fills. Viewing in a large open garden allows for appreciation of scale so will assist you to visualise what impact a piece may have on your own spaces. From traditional bronze, wow-factor pieces in modern materials, timeless terrazzo or a unique urn or pot, our collection is curated to coax a smile when you pause to admire or enjoy. We first visited Indonesia in 2010. On one of our daily adventures on our motor scooter, well off the tourist track, we stopped to admire two-metre bronze cranes which we just had to have - they were perfect for the large pond feature at our previous home, and as far as we knew, unavailable in New Zealand. A relationship was formed with the business owners, and after some careful market reseach we selected a range of pieces for our first shipment and placed an order. Demand for those items exceeded our expectations and proved we were on to something special, but to display them to their best advantage and share our vision we also needed a special space.
Our home, Muddy Hill, has been another journey, and we've never stopped seeking to enhance our own spaces with unique pieces to encourage the observer to pause and enjoy the moment.

    We import our first shipment of bronze statues & ornaments from Indonesia.
  • 2014 - 2022
    Our property, Muddy Hill, is extensively developed. Garden spaces are planned and established. Over time the property begins to evolve into something truly special, but as with all long-term projects there will always be more to do!
  • 2023 & beyond...
    Muddy Hill Garden Gallery concept becomes a reality. We welcome clients to view our catalogue in a unique outdoor showroom where each piece's scale and impact on a garden space can be truly appreciated.
